This message proclaims that you have solidarity with God in even your darkest hour because of God in Christ! In Christ Jesus has joined us in our dying – Indeed in Christ, God died! – uniting us to Himself in His Resurrection. Therefore, you can live NOW IN HOPE for your human life because:
When Jesus Christ lived, he lived your life, our life. When Jesus died, he died your death, our death. When Jesus rose and ascended to his Father, you rose, we rose, and all humanity mysteriously and truly ascended to his Father in Him!
Indeed, you are looking for Jesus, Who promised to draw all men to Himself! You, we, truly do live in Jesus The Resurrection and The Life! So, do you live in Him???? 🙂

In this message, we learn that God is a covenant-making God. Because of sin, the people on earth had been separated from God (Eden) and each other (Babel), but God chose one man, one family, through whom He promised to reverse this separation. This promise was later fulfilled through Abraham’s descendant—Jesus of Nazareth. And this promise continues to be fulfilled today through the mission of Jesus’ church as peoples from all over the world become part of God’s family through faith in the gospel.

As a congregation grapples with participating even more with Jesus on His Mission in and outside the walls of the local congregation, the Good News is proclaimed that Jesus Christ is our Vision, therefore, we can go forward confidently with Him in faith, and without fear, even in the middle of the accompanying storm!
Matthew 8:23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.

In this last and year-end message in a series about discerning God’s vision for His congregation at New Life Fellowship of Baltimore. MD., we continue asking “How is Jesus speaking to us RIGHT NOW through these scriptures and directing us in His mission locally?”
This message of God’s Good News continues to get very specific about what participation with Christ looks like for us in this world! It asks and discerns: Where and with whom do we begin? How do we address healing in our day as we proclaim Jesus? How should we steward Jesus’ money, and how will we live in Jesus’ peace – on mission with him – as sinners in THIS broken world?
The message can be summarized in this quote:
“There is no way to peace along the way of safety. For peace must be dared, it is itself the great venture, and can never be safe. Peace is the opposite of security… To look for guarantees is to want to protect oneself. Peace means giving oneself completely to God’s commandment, wanting no security, but in faith and obedience laying down the destiny of the nations in the hand of Almighty God, not trying to direct it for selfish purposes. 15.10.18 How To Share God’s Good News With Others, pt.5 (1 Cor 15, Rev 21.22-26) – TAH
As the saying goes, you can live one minute without air but not one second without hope! Could you use some hope and clarity about your present purpose and destiny?; hope about life even in this present evil age? If you answered YES then this is a message for you! In this message of God’s Good News get good Christian responses to your questions like:
Why am I working so hard and long on the job and in the home? Why am I hanging in there in my marriage and relationships? Why am I attending this particular school of higher learning? Why should I take time off from work and rest, or take a vacation! Why am I learning to be so patient, peaceful, and persevering in traffic, and even in tragedy?! Why am I learning to be so prickly, perturbing, and provoking even though I am by nature more meek, shy and non-disturbing?
Bottom line: Understand the importance of sharing Jesus’ Hope with others in word and deed as we participate with Him, presently, in the Spirit!

Is God Here?

Leave a comment How we think about God is important. Whether we think of Him as good, bad, or indifferent surely has an impact on how we relate to Him and to each other. What we believe about the character and nature of God will always affect the way of our being. And it is my opinion that what we believe about the character and nature of God as Father, Son, and Spirit is most important. Triune God is Love… and love does what love is… God is love so God does love. A good exercise is to take I Cor. 13:4-8 and replace the word “love” with “God.” God is patient, God is kind… get the idea? Beautiful isn’t it.
Well I believe that the second most important thing for us to ponder is the location of the Father, Son, and Spirit. Where are they in relation to us? Are they distant? Are they away somewhere in the Cosmos? Or… could it be that the angel of the Lord in Matthew 1 was right- that his name is Emmanuel- which means God is with us? You know it!
Recently my family visited a church service to attend a friend’s ordination. It was a happy and joyful time. There was a great deal of prayer and blessing for this person who was being ordained to the ministry of the Gospel of Jesus.
You know the old saying don’t you, “Eat the meat, and spit out the bones.” Well in any church service, you may have to spit out a bone or two because all church services are led by humans who are not yet fully human. So, during the service one of the pastors involved in the ordination referred to our collective prayers as “being on a conference call with Jesus.”
My jaw hit the floor. How could we be on a conference call with Emmanuel? What need of a conference call does the Indwelling Christ have? You see… statements like this assume an absent Jesus. When we pray to invite the Holy Spirit, Jesus, or the Father we are operating as though God is not with us.
Friends, it is crucial that we live and move through our daily lives in the truth that Jesus is indeed Emmanuel- God with us. I for one find great comfort in knowing he is always with me because he is good, he is kind, he is gentle, and he is LOVE!
