Breaking News: Jesus Is Renewing T/His Church! pt.7

As Hugh Halter has written:
“From the beginning of time and throughout the scriptures, God’s people patterned their lives around celebration, feasts, social gatherings, levity, story-telling, eating, drinking, laughter, and listening…
…Remember, when teaching about the gospel of the kingdom, our living metaphors are that of a wedding feast, a banquet, and a supper. It’s time to include this in our own spiritual formation.
That’s what this message is about as a congregation literally throws a party for the community!

Only The Childlike Will Enter God’s Kingdom

George MacDonald wrote, Do you think you love your children better than He who made them? Is not your love what it is because He put it into your heart first? Have you not often been cross with them? Sometimes unjust to them? Whence came the returning love that rose from unknown depths in your being, and swept away the anger and the injustice? You did not create that love. Probably you were not good enough to send for it by prayer. But it came. God sent it. He makes you love your children.”
This message of God’s Good News proclaims how God – Father, Son and Spirit – puts his love into us, growing us up into being childlike, so that we may share in it with him, and with others, in his Kingdom!

Breaking News: Jesus Is Renewing T/His Church! pt.6

Full Message: “https://trinityandhumanity.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/16-07-24-breaking-news-jesus-is-renewing-t-his-church-part-6-john-13-tah.mp3”
This message asks along with author Tim Chester, “When will we introduce [the world] to the network of believing relationships of which are privileged to be a part? When will they see us participating in the trinitarian life. When will they see that we not only submit to God’s will, but actually know God as a Father through the Son and by the Spirit? When will they see our relationships with one another: not perfect relationships, but relationships that reflect our experience of triune grace? When will they see a supernatural community that reflects the sending by the Father of the Son in the power of the Spirit, and the glorification by the Spirit through the Son of the Father.
Only as they experience the reality of the work of the Trinity in the lives of believers, and our vibrant relationship with the triune God, will the doctrine of the Trinity cease to be an academic game and become their living Hope.”

Breaking News: Jesus Is Renewing T/His Church! pt.5

As Hank Coates has written: “Jonah, the Prophet who ran away, is the Lord’s. And the Lord won’t let Jonah go. And the Lord gets what the Lord wants. And what the Lord wants is that all people come to know his saving love that stands on the side of the oppressed, makes the crooked straight, and releases the captives from their chains.”
That’s what this message is all about as a local Church heads “outside the walls”, witnessing in Word and Deed to God, Father, Son and Spirit – The Lord! Check it out!

Breaking News: Jesus Is Renewing T/His Church! pt.4

This message of Good News is proclaimed to a congregation on mission with Jesus “Outside the Walls “of their Church bldg., literally.
The Gospel proclaims God, Father, Son and Spirit as the God who calls human beings to participate with Him in a special and gracious way that He provides in the power of the Holy Spirit. It reminds every member of Jesus’ Body that, even like God’s great leaders such as Moses, we can often keep giving God excuses as to why we don’t follow through on what He says. In the Light of His provision and grace Revealed in Jesus and in the power of the Spirit, our Father’s command comes to us through the Apostle Paul all the same, “See to it that you complete the ministry you have received in the Lord.”

Rebellion Against The Redeemer

Theological Them: Idolatry is putting something or someone in the place of God – Father, Son and Spirit.
Christ Connection: The children of Israel needed a mediator to intercede on their behalf. Jesus Christ is the mediator between God and sinful humanity; He intercedes on behalf of His people.
Missional Application: God calls us to intercede for people who need Him, appealing to His character and His will as we pray for their salvation.

The Wilderness Test

Theological Theme: God’s goodness is expressed through His sustaining grace toward His people.
Christ Connection: Moses struck the rock instead of the people, and water flowed for the people’s salvation. Jesus is the Rock who was struck for our salvation, the Rock whose living water satisfies us forever.
Missional Application: God calls us to testify to His goodness in providing for us.

The Redeemer Judges and Saves

Theological Theme: God’s righteous judgment is coming to everyone without distinction, but salvation is offered through the sacrifice of a perfect substitute.
Christ Connection: Just as a spotless lamb was sacrificed in order to spare God’s people from His judgment, so also Jesus Christ is the Passover Lamb who was sacrificed in order to protect us from God’s wrath. He is the Judge Who was judged in our place!
Missional Application: God calls us to warn others of the coming judgment of God and to offer the good news of salvation through Jesus, the substitute Lamb.

Breaking News: Jesus Is Renewing T/His Church! pt.3

This message of Good News leads to an attempt of a congregation to participate with Jesus as he inspired the Apostle Paul to write in Ephesians 4 :7-13 (The Message):
“Is it not true that the One who climbed up also climbed down, down to the valley of earth? And the One who climbed down is the One who climbed back up, up to highest heaven. He handed out gifts above and below, filled heaven with his gifts, filled earth with his gifts. He handed out gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, and pastor-teacher to train Christ’s followers in skilled servant work, working within Christ’s body, the church, until we’re all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God’s Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ.”
