On this 4th Sunday after Pentecost, Pastor Timothy Brassell of New Life Fellowship of Baltimore, Proclaims the GOOD NEWS of The God Revealed in Jesus Christ in the continuation of pt. 5 of this Gospel Series, entitled, “Why Jesus’ Church Fellowships More And More!” and continues to show through Hebrews 10: 1-25 and 1 Thessalonians 2 that the historical context of Hebrews demonstrates that living in God’s image (in relationship together!) is SO CRUCIAL to our well-being that we ARE CALLED to FELLOWSHIP WITH EACH OTHER, all the more, even in the middle of persecution!
We hear in this message:
- Through a quote by Deitrich Bonhoeffer that “the Christian needs another Christian who speaks God’s Word to him. He needs him again and again when he becomes uncertain and discouraged, for by himself he cannot help himself without belying the truth. He needs his brother man as a bearer and proclaimer of the divine word of salvation. He needs his brother solely because of Jesus Christ. The Christ in his own heart is weaker than the Christ in the word of his brother; his own heart is uncertain, his brother’s is sure.” – Life Together, p.22-23. This is why we meet. We were meant to hear the Gospel proclaimed to us!
- There are many pressures placed on us, especially on fathers, because of society’s myth which is that the primary goal of life is the American work ethic and how it will give you power and save you, especially since our jobs are where we get our paychecks, or livelihoods.
- A more detailed answer to the question: “How do we sort out our calling to the Body of Christ and our calling to our Civic Responsibilities including our jobs?” Specifically we understand the responses to that question to be that:
- (1) In this world we have dual responsibilities and they relate around one true center – JESUS CHRIST, so we should NOT rank our responsibilities but prioritize CHRIST IN ALL OUR RESPONSIBILITIES!
- (2) We should NOT conceive of our job or the Body of Christ as independent of one another because in Christ, the Kingdom of God has broken into THIS AGE so that Jesus has the SAME END RESULT for BOTH YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE AND YOUR WORK LIFE!
- Jesus IS our Work and our Ethic even if that appears confusing or troubling to us! Our Identity IS in Him! The right thing to do is whatever God is doing through us, in participation with Jesus and in the Holy Spirit. We not only live FOR Jesus, but we also live FROM Jesus!
Listen and understand more clearly that we can and need to think of our participation in life as DUAL CITIZENS who relate in our dual roles around the One Center of reality: Jesus!

On this 3rd Sunday after Pentecost, Pastor Timothy Brassell of New Life Fellowship of Baltimore, Proclaims the GOOD NEWS of The God Revealed in Jesus Christ in pt. 5 (a) of this Gospel Series, entitled, “Why Jesus’ Church Fellowships More And More!” and shows through Hebrews 10: 1-25 that the historical context of Hebrews demonstrates that living in God’s image (in relationship together!) is SO CRUCIAL to our well being that we ARE CALLED to FELLOWSHIP WITH EACH OTHER, all the more, even in the middle of persecution!

- Simply, and positively, that, the reason we meet together more and more is simply because we have Trinitarian “DNA”! God through Jesus Christ, by the Spirit, shares HIS RELATIONAL LIFE with us and Relating together in the Spirit is what HIS LIFE looks like! Christianity IS Union with Christ!
- We can only be who we are in Jesus, the New Humanity, as we relate WITH Jesus AND other people – The Great Commandment: Loving God, and Loving our neighbors as yourself! This is especially true of the Body of Christ of which Dietrich Bonhoeffer has said: “The Christian needs another Christian who speaks God’s word to him. He needs him again and again when he becomes discouraged, for by himself he cannot help himself …. He needs his brother man [or sister girl!] as a bearer and proclaimer of the divine word of salvation.”
- A 4TH MYTH EXPOSED! THAT MYTH?: The Primary Goal of Christianity is the American Work Ethic! Get a bit of the context about why the American Work life puts such a negative pressure on you the way it does and a little handle on what you are up against and why!
- A good first response to the question: How do you sort out your calling to the Body of Christ and your calling to your civic responsibilities, including your job, in a world that runs at the pace of 24/7?!
- A more REALISTIC picture as to the conflict and cost involved in being a Christian in this world, living between “The present evil age” and “The Age to Come.”
- An invitation to respond to Jesus calling you to His Body and you having the greatest kind of hope because, in the Spirit, the Father and Jesus bring the future into the present through those in union with Jesus!

- We are called to manifest the LOVE and RELATIONSHIP that exists within the TRIUNE GOD, and extend THAT kind of love to others; that love looks like the Father stirring up in us a deep concern and right way about how to care for each other in our communities and through the difficult times many people have fallen into!

In This Easter Resurrection Message Pastor Timothy Brassell of New Life Fellowship of Baltimore, Proclaims the GOOD NEWS of The God Revealed in Jesus Christ through his message entitled, “Behold and Be-Held! Jesus Makes Everything New!” . In this message he shows through 1 Cor 15 that at the root of and core of our being is the risen Lord Jesus and He seizes and summons us to participate with him as He leads and guides in our day and in our humanity!
Hear in this message that:
- Our celebrations during the Easter Season are not the Resurrection, but neither is our sadness and anxiety! JESUS is the Resurrection and our current celebrations and sadness point to Him!
- You don’t have to feel pressured to prove Jesus rose but, as THE RESURRECTION and THE LIFE, Jesus creatively makes Himself known! Your role is to trust and obey Him as you witness to Him in the power of the Spirit at His direction!
- The Resurrection is NOT primarily about life after death or our personal, me-centered salvation! Rather, it is about something ENTIRELY NEW and far more extensive = Life AFTER “life after death” and the entire cosmos!
- Because of the way Jesus Revealed Himself in His Resurrection, He is not only alive as Lord but alive as God of Everyone and Everything! This means:
- You must face the realization of being met by Him and challenged to be who you are in him in His grace!
- Jesus not only has the right to be your Savior and the Center of your world but has the right to take you into the Center of His world!
- You can experience freedom as His Father’s child ONLY under His Lordship and Mastery!
- You get to take the Holy Spirit more seriously than your own frail humanity, though we all still live in the “already but not yet”.
- You do not have to be afraid of the dark in any form or shape because when Jesus rose, YOU rose with Him THEN as an overcomer!
- There is a challenge, promise, warning and question Easter brings to you, and the most important question in life is not your question but Jesus’ question to you, which is…….

In this season of Lent, Pastor Timothy Brassell of New Life Fellowship of Baltimore, Proclaims the GOOD NEWS of The God Revealed in Jesus Christ through his message entitled “Why Jesus’s Church Fellowships MORE And MORE!” pt.1. He explores Hebrews 10: 19-39 , posing the question to the congregation: “How can this Lenten Season perspective be VERY helpful to us as we hear about the subject of Fellowship?” He shows that God has shared HIS fellowship with US, through Jesus Christ and in the Holy Spirit. So God is a Union and Communion of persons TOGETHER, and that must be who and what His Church is like!

(15) Watch for the sign of Daniel: The abomination standing inside the Temple. (16) When you see that, get out of town. Head for the hills. Literally. Run for your life…(29b) Kings will fall. Society will break down. Thrones will fail. The powers will be shaken to their foundations. (30) When this prophecy comes to pass, everyone will see me vindicated over my enemies. They will see that I am what Daniel prophesied — the true Son of Man, now come to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Ancient of Days. They will weep. My enemies in Israel will see what Egypt saw (Isa 19.1) — The Son of Man riding his cloud-chariot of war, coming to bring their dark schemes to utter annihilation. (31) His messengers will spread out to all corners of the earth, and their proclamation will gather Papa’s children to his arms.
(32) When you see buds on the fig trees. you know summer’s almost here. (33) Likewise, when you guys see these signs, you know my coming is about to arrive. (34) Of the people alive right now, some of them will live to see this happen. This will be the proof for the whole world that I am a true prophet. (35) My word is reliable in ways unlike anything you have ever seen. The fulfillment of this word will be my vindication.
(36) Your generation will see this day, but none of us knows the timing any more precisely than that. Not you, not even me or the angels. Only Papa knows. (37) On the day the Son of man is vindicated and his enemies are destroyed, it will be like the day of Noah’s flood. (38) People were going on with their everyday lives right up until the day Noah boarded his boat. (39) It was completely unexpected when the flood came and took them to their destruction. It will be just like that on the day when the Son of Man comes to the throne in heaven and begins to exercise his rule over the world. (40) It will be unpredictable, this flood of violence that is coming. Two men will be working in the field, and the flood will take one but not the other. (41) Two women will be working in the kitchen; one will be swept away and the other will be left.
(42) Here’s the point: Stay awake, because you will not see it coming if you’re not paying attention to the sign I told you about. (43) If a thief told you when he was going to break into your house, you would stay awake and protect your house. (44) In the same way, you need to stay awake and watch for the sign. For that day will come when you’re least expecting it.
(45) Think of it like this: The master chose one servant to be in charge of the other servants, to take care of them and keep them fed. He blessed one servant so that the other servants would be blessed through him. (46) How wonderful for that servant if the master were to arrive on the scene to see him faithfully doing his job! (47) The master would promote him on the spot. (48) But what is the master to do when he finds the servant (49) abusing those he was meant to bless, growing fat while the other servants starve? (50) When that servant least expects it, the master will arrive on the scene to right those wrongs. (51) He will fully expose the wicked servant as his enemy. The bitter truth will be told, the truth by which both the oppressor and the oppressed will be set free.
