Scripture: Revelation 5
Summary:
In a world filled with wars, suffering, uncertainty, and seemingly endless chaos, where can we find genuine hope? Is God’s purpose for humanity being threatened by the turmoil around us, or is something far greater unfolding through Jesus Christ?
In this powerful, Christ-centered Gospel message, Pastor Timothy Brassell takes us into Revelation 5, revealing the unwavering love and unalterable purpose of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. A divine plan that no earthly power, human failure, or worldly chaos can overturn!
The Apostle John sees a mysterious scroll in the right hand of the One seated on the throne, sealed with seven seals. No one in heaven or on earth is found worthy to open it, and John begins to weep. Yet, in the midst of his sorrow comes the glorious announcement: The Lion of the tribe of Judah has conquered! But when John looks, he sees something extraordinary, not a conquering lion displaying worldly power, but a Lamb who has been slaughtered, yet stands victorious!
Here is the heart of the Gospel: Jesus Christ, the Lion who is also the Lamb, has accomplished for humanity what we could never accomplish for ourselves!
Pastor Tim explains that the sealed scroll points to God’s secure and unalterable purpose, while also revealing humanity’s inability, because of sin, guilt, and shame, to enter fully into what God has intended for us. Yet Jesus, the eternal Son of God who entered our humanity, has overcome these barriers through His faithful life, sacrificial death, resurrection, and victory. As our representative and mediator, He alone is worthy to take the scroll from His Father’s hand. And what does this reveal about God’s power? Not merely overwhelming force, but the extraordinary power of divine love, a love willing to humble itself, enter our brokenness, bear our burdens, and sacrifice itself for our redemption!
As theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer expressed it: “God lets himself be pushed out of the world on to the cross.”— Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Letters and Papers from Prison, July 16, 1944
What a profound picture of the God revealed in Jesus Christ! The One who possesses all power does not overcome evil by becoming like it, but through the humility, faithfulness, and self-giving love of the Son. The Lion conquers as the Lamb! This is the good news of Revelation 5: The chaos of this world does not have the final word. Jesus Christ does! Through the Holy Spirit, we are invited to participate in the Son’s relationship with His Father, to trust His finished work rather than our own efforts, and to live as people of hope, worship, prayer, and self-giving love. God’s purpose is not simply to rescue us from our circumstances, but to bring His creation into the fullness of His loving rule and reign in Jesus Christ.
Reflective Moment
When the chaos around you, or even the guilt, shame, and struggles within you seems overwhelming, where are you placing your confidence? Are you exhausting yourself trying to fix what only Jesus Christ can redeem? Are you allowing fear and uncertainty to shape your understanding of God, or are you allowing the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit to reveal the truth of who God is and what He has already accomplished for you in Christ?
What might change in your life if you truly trusted that God’s unwavering love is stronger than your greatest failure, and His purpose in Jesus Christ cannot be defeated by the chaos of this world?
Revelation 5 calls us to look away from ourselves and behold the victorious Lion-Lamb, whose strength is revealed through sacrificial love and whose victory gives us every reason to hope! We invite you to watch this encouraging Gospel message as Pastor Tim helps us see beyond the chaos of our world and discover the unshakable hope, freedom, and life we have in Jesus Christ, through Whom the Father, in the Holy Spirit, is bringing His loving purposes to fulfillment!
“Jesus-Centered Insights About Healing In Our Times!”

Scripture: Acts 3-4 (CSB)
Summary:
What does healing look like when Jesus Christ, not healing itself, is at the center?
In Acts 3, Peter and John encounter a man who had been unable to walk from birth. He asks them for money, but Peter tells him, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!” The man is raised to his feet, strengthened, and begins walking, leaping, and praising God. Yet Peter and John immediately refuse to make themselves the center of what has happened. The healing points beyond them to Jesus. That is where our understanding of healing must begin.
Pastor Timothy Brassell reminds us that if we want clarity about healing and wholeness, we should not primarily pursue healing and wholeness, we should pursue Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Healer, and our healing is found in Him. The healing in Acts is not ultimately Peter and John’s ministry. It is Jesus’ Ministry, and by the Holy Spirit they are participating in what He is doing.
This is profoundly Trinitarian. The Father desires the complete healing and wholeness of His creation. The eternal Son truly entered our broken humanity, living, suffering, dying, rising, ascending and being glorified in our human nature. And the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus Christ, personally shares Christ with us, conforms us to Jesus, and enables us to participate in His ongoing Ministry.
Gregory of Nazianzus expressed this profound truth about Jesus and our healing: “For that which He has not assumed He has not healed; but that which is united to His Godhead is also saved.” — Gregory of Nazianzus, Letter 101, To Cledonius
Jesus did not save us from a distance. The Son of God assumed our real humanity, body and soul, and our hope for healing rests in who Jesus is and what He has accomplished in our humanity. That helps us understand why Acts 4 brings healing and salvation together. Salvation means that something broken is being made right, and Jesus has come to save the whole human person, body, soul, our relationship with God, and our relationships with one another.
The Gospel therefore does not allow us to reduce healing merely to the physical. Nor does it allow us to separate physical healing from God’s larger purpose for humanity. In Jesus Christ, God is for our healing through and through. At the same time, Pastor Tim reminds us of something essential: every healing we experience before Jesus’ bodily return is partial, provisional and temporary.
Even the man healed in Acts 3 eventually died. Every person Jesus and the apostles physically healed eventually faced death. So while we gratefully receive healing, pray for healing, seek medical care and resist sickness, we must never make physical health itself our ultimate hope. Jesus is our hope, not healing itself. Present healing is a sign. It points beyond itself toward the Kingdom that has already broken into our world in Jesus Christ and toward the complete healing and glorification of humanity that will be revealed when Jesus returns.
Irenaeus beautifully expressed the direction of this saving and healing work of Christ: “Our Lord Jesus Christ, who did, through His transcendent love, become what we are, that He might bring us to be even what He is Himself.” — Irenaeus of Lyons, Against Heresies, Book V, Preface
Our final hope, then, is not simply that God will fix something that is wrong with us today. Our hope is Jesus Christ Himself and the glorious future of humanity in Him, and this has important implications for healing in our times. Peter and John did not minister to the man from a distance. They looked at him. They spoke to him. Peter reached out his hand and lifted him. The healed man even held onto Peter and John. Their participation in Jesus’ healing Ministry was deeply personal and embodied.
In a world increasingly shaped by technology, efficiency, isolation and distance, Christians must be careful that we do not become disembodied healers. Technology may assist us, but it cannot replace the costly, personal love of neighbor into which Jesus calls us. Sometimes participating in Jesus’ healing Ministry may begin with something as simple as looking another person in the face and asking: “Can I pray for you and for your healing?” And then we point beyond ourselves to Jesus, the One in whom everything broken ultimately finds its healing.
Acts 4 also reminds us that participating with Jesus does not guarantee comfort or safety. Peter and John were arrested for proclaiming Jesus and participating in His healing Ministry. Yet filled with the Holy Spirit, they continued speaking boldly about what they had seen and heard. Healing, therefore, is not ultimately about making ourselves comfortable, healthy or safe. It is about participating with the Father-Son-Holy Spirit-God, in the healing and redemption already accomplished and still being brought to completion in Jesus Christ.
Reflective Moment
Where might Jesus be inviting you to participate in His healing Ministry right now? Is there someone you have kept at a distance who needs more than an efficient response. Someone who needs your presence, your prayer, your compassion, or simply to be seen? Ask the Holy Spirit to help you see that person through the eyes of Jesus and to participate in what He is already doing.
Because the healing is His.
The Ministry is His.
And the ultimate outcome belongs to Him.
The Father is for our complete wholeness.
Jesus has taken our humanity into His own and is our Healer.
And through the Holy Spirit, we are invited to participate personally and boldly in His healing Ministry. Watch the full Gospel Message, to hear more about what healing means when Jesus Christ Himself remains at the center of our hope.
Profit And Loss
Are you wondering WHEN are you going to experience the treasures that come with knowing God?
In this Gospel Message entitled “Profit And Loss”, Pastor Richard Andrews of New Life Fellowship of Baltimore, Proclaims the Good News and gives encouragement through The Apostle Paul and by exploring Philippians 3:4-14 and also by reading the Lectionary, 17th Sunday after Pentecost: That our Profit and Losses are not Fiscal Profit and Losses but Profit in the context of our trials – Treasures in heaven. The kind that are measured in our Blood and Jesus’s Blood. The kind that are measured in sweat and tears.
In this message hear how to see our trials and ourselves differently by learning:
~We need to start seeing Jesus and what HE wants differently.
~We need to start seeing the acts and works of our hands differently.
~We need to start seeing the things that come out of our mouths differently as we grow in Christ.
~Our Prize is to move forward, to press on through trials, to see the heavenly calls. (Isaiah 55-1)
~To count it all as a period of cleansing – Our “Pressure Cooker Period”
~To ask ourselves: AM I READY TO LET GO OF ME? AM I TIRED OF WORKING THINGS MY WAY?
~To see trials as a way of melting/weakening of the flesh/ humbling us.
~To see trials as pointing us to THE ONE IN WHOM ALL ANSWERS ARE FOUND!
~To see trials not just as losing self but GAINING JESUS CHRIST, growing in his righteousness!
In this message we understand that:
~There is NO WAY to share in Jesus’s suffering without US SUFFERING! To know Christ is to know him in his suffering!
~Our Father is saying, STAND UP as a Community in the LOVE of God and WALK as a Community to help other Communities. We are never in a vacuum but rather, US TOGETHER with FATHER SON and SPIRIT embracing us all. We stand in the name and power of Jesus Christ who lives in and through us!

“Partnering With Jesus In Planting Disciples-Making Communities”
In this Gospel Message entitled ” Partnering With Jesus In Planting Disciple-Making Communities!”, Pastor Timothy Brassell of New Life Fellowship of Baltimore, shares with us the Mission of GCI and NLF with Jesus which is: Living and Sharing the Gospel! Seeing Jesus revealed in Matt 9:27-38, He Proclaims The GOOD NEWS that we are called to be GOSPEL PROCLAIMERS who participate with Jesus and other disciples, forming disciple-making communities that also proclaim this GOOD NEWS!
In this message we learn that when we see Jesus we see the God, Father and Spirit acting as One in Jesus! What we see coming out of the heart of Jesus is the heart of the Father, Son and Spirit! In Christ God is active in our humanity, BEing, DOing, ACTing, and SPEAKing in Relationship as He saves, heals and redeems His fallen creation!
Listen in as Pastor Tim explores the following questions:
Do you see God, Father Son and Spirit in Jesus?
Do you see God, Father Son and Spirit Committed to His plan of Adoption?
Do you see the humbling of God in Jesus Christ?
Do you see the capability of man in Jesus Christ?
Can you feel the Fierce wrath and Fiery Love of God, Father Son and Spirit?
Do you see the faces of all of the Lord’s children?
Can you discern the whole God inside the whole man Jesus?
Can you see that God the Father desires to be known? Now!?
Can you look at Jesus and see how God deals with the confusion that has entered the human race and creation?
Can you see that Jesus calls disciples to participate with Him in the loving labor of prayer and disciple-making?
Understanding God’s ‘If’s, And’s, or Buts’ RELATIONALLY! Part 3
In this Gospel Message entitled ” Understanding God’s ‘If, And’s, or Buts’ Relationally!” Part 3, Pastor Timothy Brassell of New Life Fellowship of Baltimore, Proclaims though Psalm 89 and Hebrews 8-9 The GOOD NEWS of the COVENANT-KEEPING GOD Revealed in Jesus Christ – God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
In this Interactive Discipleship Message:
* Hear the call and challenge, as Jesus’ disciple, to a lifetime of continual repentance and transformation as we live in a state of “becoming” till Jesus returns and are asked “What will you be doing when He returns?”
*Learn how crucial it is to see Life through the lens of God the Father , Son and Spirit in Covenant Love, lest we find ourselves adding problems on top of our already challenging problems, and maybe even adding to those problems with a “great attitude and hard work ethic”. Yikes!
* Rehearse that you have been saved into a Relationship which is active and realistic so that your participation with Jesus now is one that is not apathetic or triumphant, but one where you are occupied till the Lord comes.
* Learn why to resist this world with Jesus means pain and suffering but also a profound and unspeakable joy!
Listen in and see what you think!
Understanding God’s ‘If, And’s, or Buts’ RELATIONALLY! Part 2
In this Gospel Message entitled ” Understanding God’s ‘If, And’s, or Buts’ Relationally!” Part 2, Pastor Timothy Brassell of New Life Fellowship of Baltimore, Proclaims though Psalm 89 The GOOD NEWS of the COVENANT GOD Revealed in Jesus Christ – God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
In this Message:
- Hear how “God’s steadfast love is not a contract but a covenant that depends on God to fulfill both sides of in unconditional grace in His unrelenting purpose or reconciliation which he pledged to work out through Israel for all people!”
- Learn that because God is Himself OUR salvation, then Salvation is not just a static some”thing” we are saved FROM but a DYNAMIC RELATIONSHIP of the RELATIONAL GOD we are saved INTO; emphasizing that the God Who IS, DOES Who He is!
- Be challenged not only to hear the GOOD NEWS, but challenged to EMBRACE and BE TRANSFORMED AGAIN and AGAIN, as Jesus’ disciples, BELIEVING that, as men and women made in His Image, BELIEVING is an ACTIVE, MOVING, RESPONSIVE, PARTICIPATING, RELATIONAL RISK-TAKING ACTIVITY to the glory of the Father, through the Son and by the Spirit!
This message also touches on the often difficult but realistic situations we can find ourselves in as we live out and dimly show God’s Covenant Love in our present marriages and personal lives!

Understanding God’s ‘If, And’s, or Buts’ RELATIONALLY! Part 1
In this Gospel Message entitled ” Understanding God’s ‘If, And’s, or Buts’ Relationally!” Part 1, Pastor Timothy Brassell of New Life Fellowship of Baltimore, Proclaims The GOOD NEWS of the LOYAL GOD Revealed in Jesus Christ!
Because God gives Himself and His own Relationship to us as His Gift to us in Jesus, then God Himself is His own Good News! God Himself is our Great Blessing and Reward! Practically speaking then, the best way for us to understand what God is saying to us, even in scripture, is to understand more about God Himself, and especially as Revealed in Jesus His Son! Jesus Revealed that God IS Father, Son and Spirit not a doctrine! To understand God’s Relationship is not academic, or ivory tower stuff only because in Christ God is Revealed to be THE Way, THE Truth and THE Life!
It is in that Gospel context that we begin to understand that:
- God does have some “If’s, and’s & but’s” BUT only in His Unconditional Love for us!
- We can only have a proper understanding of those words in the Light of God’s own Relationship, which has been shared with us in Jesus!
- As we understand Who God is, and who we are in Him, we have to reconsider and toss out our broken views of “If’s, and’s & but’s” and receive them for the Good News that they are!
In short, hear about the God of Loyal Love and of God’s love that makes a choice for no particular reason! Yay!
