I really enjoyed,as usual, your sermon. They are so profound , and inspirational, and as usual, brought to us not only from your heart but by the power of the Holy Spirit, The Father, and the Son, which has been so obviously always mostly been in your heart. My question is, What if you became baptized for all the wrong reasons in your heart, but thought they were the right reasons, only to find they were not? I may have missed that part of your message, so I am asking. I am sure because God is so awesome, He would turn those reasons into the right ones, because of his great love for us. Now, I’m thinking I just may have answered my own question? Or could you please expound on this for me? Another one. How do you know you are being called to be baptized by the Holy Spirit, and not of your own thoughts and feelings?

      Hello Lisa!

I am glad you are finding this series helpful. In answer to your questions I would suggest you listen to the last message in this series and see if that doesn’t get to the bottom of your questions. However, I think you are right and answered your own question nicely ” I am sure because God is so awesome, He would turn those reasons into the right ones, because of his great love for us.” YES! Ultimately Jesus has done and does for us what we can’t do for ourselves, and because He is One with His Father and the Spirit, it is what the Whole God is and does for us!

I think that when the Holy Spirit is calling you to fellowship in His Church He has a way of making it very clear to you, and I would trust Him to do what only He could do in that instance for any of us!

Sure appreciate your feedback and wonderful participation through questions! Would appreciate hearing if the next message confirms for you what you have already sensed by the leading of the Spirit!

      Much Love,

      Timothy

THE BAPTISM OF JESUS BY STEVE FINNELL

Why was Jesus baptized in water by John?

Matthew 3:13-17 Then Jesus arrived from Galilee at the Jordan coming to John, to be baptized by him. 14 But John tried to prevent Him, saying “I have need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me?” 15 But Jesus answering said to him, “Permit it at this time; for this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.”…..

Question: Did Jesus fulfill all righteous before He was baptized in water? No He did not.

Question: Was baptism just act of obedience or was it essential to fulfill all righteous?

Question: Was Jesus baptized in water as an outward sign that He had already fulfilled all righteous?

Question: Was the baptism of Jesus just a meaningless symbolic act?

Question: Was Jesus baptized so He could be member of the church of John The Baptist? Of course not!

Question: Did Jesus fulfill all righteous the moment He confessed to John that He needed to be baptized in water?

Question: Did Jesus get baptized as a testimony to the community that He has already fulfilled all righteous?

It is obvious that Jesus needed to to be baptized in water to fulfill all righteousness!

IT IS OBVIOUS THAT ALL MEN NEED TO BE BAPTIZED IN WATER IN ORDER TO PUT ON THE RIGHTEOUSNESS
OF CHRIST. Galatians 3:27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

JESUS WAS WITHOUT SIN, YET IT WAS ESSENTIAL FOR HIM TO BAPTIZED IN WATER!

ALL MEN HAVE SINNED, HOWEVER, MANY SAY WATER BAPTISM IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR FORGIVENESS! Men say that, but the Bible does not say that.

Jesus was baptized in order to fulfill all righteousness.

Christian baptism in water is in order to receive forgiveness from sin.(Acts 2:38)
Christian baptism is in order to be clothed with Christ.(Gal. 3:27)
Christian baptism is in order to be born again.(John 3:3)
Christian baptism is in order to be added to the Lord’s church. (Acts 2:47)
Christian baptism is in order to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38)
Christian baptism in in order to enter the kingdom of God.(John 3:5)
Christian baptism is in order to have sins washed away. (Acts 22:16)
Christian baptism is in order to walk in a new life. (Romans 6:4)
Christian baptism is in order to become sanctified and cleansed. (Ephesians 5:26)
Christian baptism is in order to be saved. (Mark 16:16)
Christian baptism is in order to have transgressions forgiven. (Colossians 2:12-13)
Christian baptism is in order to have the body of sin destroyed. (Romans 6:6)
Christian baptism is in order to receive the Holy Spirit. (Acts 19:2-6)
Christian baptism is in order to be saved and added to the church. (Acts 2:40-41)
Christian baptism is in order to be saved. 1 Peter 3:21)
Christian baptism is in order to enter the kingdom of God. (John 3:5)
